In a David Hockney Style, I aimed to create a photo showcasing a form of destruction. As a Greek Mythology enthusiast, Persephone’s story has always stuck with me. Pomegranates as a symbol reflect fertility, life/abundance, or death. The Pomegranate for Persephone symbolized the death of her previous life which was caused by a man (Hades). Though this piece has no singular meaning, the symbolization of the Pomegranate, the man’s hands, and the bloody appearance of the juice aim to share a story of destruction.
